The FTDI Chip has FT245RNL which is a USB to parallel FIFO interface, with the new FTDIChip-ID security dongle feature. In addition, asynchronous and synchronous bit bang interface modes are available.
Entire USB protocol handled on the chip – No USB-specific firmware programming required
Simple interface to MCU / PLD / FPGA logic with simple 4-wire handshake interface
