CE-TEK Black Junction Box, IP66, ATEX, 110 x 75 x 75mm

Introducing a new range of ATEX IECex empty U Version uncertified component junction boxes from CE-TEK. All the boxes in the range are supplied pre-machined with threaded M20/ M25 cable gland entry apertures (each fitted with EX rated blanking plugs) and come complete with a punched internal earth continuity plate, and an internal /external earth stud. These empty Junction Boxes incorporate internal fixing locations for either the installation of a mounting plate or a length of DIN Rail and are designed to be subsequently integrated with suitable EX certified components or EX certified DIN rail mounted Terminal blocks.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ATEX IECex empty U Version uncertified component covering this range carries the suffix “U” which indicates that these particular Empty enclosure products have been assessed for use as a “Component” and therefore must only form part of a Hazardous Area equipment “Assembly” or protective “System” which in turn will be subject to further assessment (own or 3rd party certification) in its own right.

NB; This partial “Component” certification may be used as the basis for subsequent certification of an equipment assembly or protective system.

CE-TEK Empty GRP Junction Boxes are intended for use by OEM Companies and/or qualified Hazardous Area Electrical Installers and have been designed to provide a ready to integrate, partially certified EX housing.

• Manufactured from Black (anti-static graphite loaded) polyester (GRP)

• Factory machined with M20 / M25 Threaded cable entry holes

• Supplied with an Integrated & punched earth continuity plate

• Fitted with an Internal and external M6 earth stud

• Provide IP 66 ingress protection

• Comply with Ex e & Ex tb requirements of EN 60079-0:2012 (inc. A11:2013), EN 60079-7: 2007

and EN 60079-31:2014 as an enclosure component.

• Have a certified service temperature range of between -50oC to +100oC

CE-TEK Hazardous Area Junctions boxes are specifically designed for use by Industries such as those of the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chem, Milling, Pharmaceutical , Waste Water, and Fuel Distribution sectors, where the need exists to install electrical, data and communication equipment within environments where highly combustible gases, liquids or dust are commonly, or indeed constantly present.

More generally, Junctions Boxes are primarily used in building construction* and are designed to provide protection to wiring circuits and electrical connections for easy access. Boxes are usually made from metal or heavy-duty plastic and in most situations can be used both indoor and outdoor due to their water and impact resistance. * but also, as part of the electrical wiring of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles intended to be used in Hazardous Areas

• Initial building / facility electrical installations for Power, Lighting, HVAC, Control etc
• As an integral part of OEM equipment, machinery or plant wiring

No, EX Certified terminal blocks are Not included in these “Empty” junction boxes. However internal fixing locations and screws for either a Mounting plate or a suitable cut length of DIN rail are provided
