On/Off temperature controllers are designed to control and maintain temperatures in appliances by turning on or off, depending on the users required pre-set temperature. Used for monitoring purposes in heating environments, on-off temperature controllers prevent rapid increases in temperature that could cause damage. These controllers are often used where there isn't a need for precision temperature control, but where a system is unable to handle continuous interruptions.
