Siemens 5SU1 Series Residual Current Circuit Breaker With Overload Protection, 16A Current, 30mA Trip sensitivity - 5SU1354-4KK16

This residual current circuit-breaker with overload protection provides combined earth-leakage and overcurrent protection for single-phase installations at 230 V. It is designed for installation on DIN rail and suits distribution boards where compact, modular protective devices are required. The device operates with AC supply at 50/60 Hz and incorporates a neutral-switching function and touch protection for safer handling during installation and maintenance.

Features and Benefits:

• 10 kA breaking capacity offers fault interruption performance
• 30 mA trip sensitivity reduces risk from residual currents
• Class C tripping characteristic handles moderate inrush currents
• 16 A rated operational current supports common circuit loads
• Screw terminals accept up to 35 mm² conductors for secure connections

Applications

• Suitable for domestic ring and radial circuit protection
• Used for circuits requiring combined earth-fault and overload protection
• Suitable for installations needing a Compact DIN-rail device
• Can be used where neutral-conductor switching is required

What ambient temperature range can it operate within?

It can operate between -25 °C and 55 °C.

How does the device perform under short-circuit conditions?

It provides a short-circuit breaking capacity of 10 kA according to EN 61009-1 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2.

What conductor types and sizes are supported by the terminals?

Solid and stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 35 mm² are supported, with finely stranded up to 25 mm² when using ferrules.

How is the product tested for lower supply voltages?

The minimum voltage for testing equipment is 195 V and the rated insulation voltage is 264 V.

What mechanical lifecycle can be expected from operation?

The typical mechanical service life is 10,000 operating cycles.
