StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 10m Cable Length, OM4 Fibre Type - 450FBLCLC10PP

This Fibre optic cable provides a 10m multimode connection designed for high-speed network links. It connects LC/UPC to LC/UPC interfaces and is optimised for 850nm and 1300nm sources, supporting 40/100G environments. The cable uses laser-optimised OM4 Fibre within a low-smoke zero-halogen jacket, enabling installations in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces while complying with industry performance expectations.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps capacity enables high-throughput data transmission
• 50/125μm core offers compatibility with multimode equipment
• Bend-insensitive Fibre maintains low attenuation during tight bends
• Push-pull tabs deliver fast insertion and removal in dense racks
• Individually tested to TIA/EIA 568 standards for insertion loss

Applications

• Suitable for Fibre switches and server interconnects
• Ideal for SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28 module links
• Used with storage area networks requiring high bandwidth
• Can be used in train and aircraft confined spaces
• Suitable for upgrading 10G/40G installations to 100G

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C.

How does the connector design aid field polarity changes?

Retractable strain-relief housings enable toolless polarity swapping in situ.

What attenuation performance can be expected at 850nm?

Attenuation is specified at 2.4dB/km at 850nm.

Which cable jacket material is used and why is it chosen?

A low-smoke zero-halogen jacket is used to reduce toxic fumes and smoke in fires for safer enclosed installations.
