RS Pro DC Geared Motors - Multi-Ratio
RS Pro Model Motors have an offset multi-ratio plastic gearbox fitted. They are available in two formats, either assembled or unassembled. The assembled is supplied in a final ratio of 4096:1. The unassembled are supplied with 4:1 ratio pinion gears which can be assembled to produce ratios from 4:1 to 4096:1, depending on how many gears are fitted. The final output speed is determined by the motor supply voltage.
Features and Benefits
Iron core
52mm Length
Spur gearhead
RS Pro 12 to 24 V Model DC Motor with Multi-Ratio Gear
From RS Pro, this pre-assembled 12 to 24 V DC motor and Gearbox combination is ideal for model and robotics purposes. With clearly visible and colour-coded gearing set in a robust frame, the model is useful for educational demonstration as well as practical application.
These RS Pro Model Motors have an offset multi-ratio plastic gearbox fitted, and is supplied in a final ratio of 4096:1.
With an iron core construction, the DC motor has a spur gearbox for consistent high output torque. This 58 mm geared motor is suitable for most low voltage applications, and provides a n rpm no load speed according to the supply voltage.
Features and Benefits
• Pre-assembled in plastic frame
• Iron core
• 52mm Length
• Spur gearhead
• The final output speed is determined by the motor supply voltage
Applications
DC geared motors are highly versatile, and are used in many appliances and technologies. These RS Pro model motors are ideal for both the hobbyist and for use in educational demonstrations and experiments.
• Teaching the principles of mechanics
• Models
• Robotics
• Fans
What's the Difference Between Brushed and Brushless DC Motors?
Electric motors that use a brush to deliver current to the motor windings have a simpler construction than their brushless equivalents, and are therefore usually lower in cost. They are also able to be wired directly to a DC power source, and have no need for an encoder or drive, which results in more simplified wiring options.
Unfortunately, wear and tear on the brush element means a shorter service life and less efficiency. They are also typically noisier than brushless DC motors.
Why RS Pro?
