Weidmuller PZ 10 Bootlace Ferrule Hex Crimp Tool
PZ 10 hex radial crimping tool for crimping wire end ferrules with or without plastic collars with a wire size range of 0.14 to 10mm2. With such a wide wire range in one tool the need to change tools is eliminated along with associated crimping errors. This PZ 10 hex crimp hand tool produces hexagonal crimps with a small diameter rounded crimp form making it ideal for confined clamping spaces. Hexagonal wire end ferrules provide a more secure connection than other crimping forms for screw, spring or direct-plug in clamping systems. Two crimping surfaces are always positioned in parallel to one another providing enough space to create a stable connection including direct plug-in connections. This PZ 10 crimp tool features a ratchet system which keeps the tool closed until the crimp is complete ensuring a consistent crimping quality. A release option is also incorporated in case of incorrect operation. The handles have an ergonomic design and do not spring open after crimping making the PZ 10 hand crimp tool safe and comfortable to use.
Features and Benefits:
Wide crimping range of 0.14 to 10mm2 eliminates the need to change tools
Meets DIN and UL standards for large cross-sections measuring from 0.14 mm² to 10 mm².
Round shaped crimp shape with small diameter ideal for limited clamping space
Ratchet mechanism guarantees consistent crimp quality
Release option in the event of incorrect operation
Ergonomically designed handles
Typical Applications:
Maintenance & repair
Electrical Installations
Cable assemblies
FAQs:
What is the difference between un-insulated and insulated crimp tools?
Un-insulated crimp tools are typically used for general applications, whereas the insulated crimp tools have been VDE tested up to 1000 V, designed for use where electrical current is present.
How do you maintain the product?
Axles and other movable parts should be regularly lubricated.
Lubrication* is recommended at least every 10,000 cycles whenever the tool is exposed to contaminants.
Adjustment of the crimping die nests should also be checked. Readjustment of the pressure adjustment axle is necessary when the pre-load of the tool decreases significantly.
The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp
When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between the conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas-tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas-tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage.

Weidmuller Crimping Tool, Wire Ferrule Connector Type, 195mm Length - PZ 10 Series - PZ 10 HEX
Looking for an easy way to terminate stripped electrical wires? Choose this crimping tool from Weidmuller. After stripping the wire by approximately 1cm, twist the threads together gently and insert them into a ferrule tube. Thread the assembly into the tool's jaw before squeezing the handles firmly. The result is a solid core that helps to ensure a reliable connection in your circuit. This unit is suitable for use with wire-end ferrules with or without plastic collars to allow for greater functionality.
