Alpha Wire Xtra-Guard 4 Extreme Temperature with TPE Jacket and Supra-Shield
The Xtra-Guard 4 range of extreme temperature cable from Alpha Wire is a high-performance TPE cable providing excellent flexibility. The Xtra-Guard 4 cable benefits from a thermoplastic elastomer jacket and insulation which makes it extremely durable and enables it to be three times more flexible than PVC at low or high temperatures.
The temperature range of the TPE cable extends from -50°C to +125°C making it ideal for use in extreme environments.
The jacket of the cable is available in several different colours to help with colour coding and easy identification.
Where Supra-Shield is specified against the cable, there is protection against EMI (electromagnetic interference).
FIT Heatshrink tubing recommendations: FIT-400 and FIT-600

Xtra-Guard shielding options
Supra-Shield have a triple layer of aluminium/polyester/aluminium foil and a braided shield made from tinned copper. The combination of braid and foil allows for excellent EMI performance.
What is TPE?
TPE stands for thermoplastic elastomer and is a type of copolymer (contains plastic and rubber) which has the properties of both. Thermoplastics are easy to use in manufacturing as they are durable, flexible and resistant to high temperatures.
Choosing the right Xtra-Guard cable
There is an excellent range of Xtra-Guard cable available depending on your application:
Pro-Tekt delivers reliable performance in demanding applications. Pro-Tekt cables feature a unique, premium-grade PVC insulation and jacket that makes routing of the cable easier in small, tight spaces
Xtra-Guard 2 is UV, oil, water and chemical resistant and can be used in mechanical applications due to its excellent abrasion resistance.
Xtra-Guard 3 is also UV, oil, water and chemical resistant but can be used for direct burial with no conduit required.
Xtra-Guard 4 has advanced low/high-temperature performance and UV resistance.
Xtra-Guard 5 has been designed for hazardous environments and features excellent high and low-temperature flexability, UV and chemical resistance.
Xtra-Guard Flex can be used in applications requiring a highly flexible cable.
Xtra-Guard Industrial Ethernet has been specially designed for industrial networking applications.
