The FTDI chip USB to RS232 adapter board incorporates FTDIs FT4232H USB 2.0 Hi-Speed serial bridge chip. It handles all the USB signalling and protocols. The adaptor provides a fast and simple way of adapting four legacy RS232 serial devices to the modern USB port. The integrated electronics circuit utilise the FTDI FT4232H plus four RS232 level shifters and TXD/RXD LEDs to provide a visual indication of data traffic through the module. It uses a standard USB mini-B device connector for connection to an upstream host or hub port. This board supports Windows Server 2008, 2003, Vista, XP, 2000, Windows CE, Linux, and Mac OS X.
