Microchip Development Kit
The Microchip Development Kit is a complete system that provides all the components to create a Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) LoRa network for development purposes and thus an external LoRa network connection is not required thus making prototyping simpler. It also provides a simple base station for a test local LoRa network, providing communication between the evaluation LoRaWAN Server and the LoRa nodes. It is possible to communicate with the windows-based host running the LoRaWAN server application is over Ethernet with the power being supplied via USB. It also features an onboard LCD and push buttons allow key information such as configuration settings, traffic statistics and firmware data to be viewed and navigated with ease. It allows saving the configuration of the gateway to a micro-SD card. For static testing, USB power can be used with the option for battery power being available for mobile testing and it is integrated is an ambient light sensor and a thermistor to demonstrate Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) communication. The telemetry can be transmitted as per a user-defined schedule or initiated on-demand via a push button on the Mote.
