    Solid Links

Solid links are composed of solid pieces of metal that act to change fuse switches into circuit isolators. This makes them an important part of the safety mechanisms of certain circuits. They also act to short both links and neutral links

    How do solid links work?

Solid links form part of electrical circuits. They connect to fuse switches, which are activated when the fuse blows, usually triggering another event. When solid links are connected, the fuse switch is converted into a circuit isolator, which provides a safety mechanism when there is a fault.

Circuit isolators work so that the circuit can be temporarily frozen while it is being repaired, for example after a short circuit. The given part of the circuit will be completely de-energised, and can be reconnected after the repair is complete.

    Types of solid links

Solid links come in various shapes and sizes, depending on their function. Different fuses require specific types of solid links, which differ accordingly.
