RS Opens New Regional Centre of Expertise in Foshan

Shared services and new technologies to improve customer experience across Asia Pacific

Hong Kong, 11 October 2018:

Foshan, China - 10 October 2018: RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global multi-channel distributor, has today opened its new regional shared services centre in Foshan, which will initially house around 100 employees focused on customer services, finance and inventory management. The Asia Pacific Centre of Expertise (CoE) will help improve customer experience through standardisation of process, improved accuracy and scalability.

Located in Guangdong Financial High-Tech Service Zone, the new CoE is the first RS shared services centre to open following the statement by Electrocomponents in May 2018 announcing the organisation’s global shared services and automation strategy. The programme to use shared services and new technologies is being implemented initially in Asia Pacific to improve customer service and create the capabilities required to drive scale and profitable growth across the region in the longer term.

This investment in the APAC CoE in Foshan reflects the commitment Electrocomponents is making to its growing operation in China. RS Components Business Services (Foshan) Limited is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise (WFOE) and Electrocomponents is the holding company.
