C Rechargeable Battery Packs

C rechargeable battery packs consist of several C-size batteries (a standard-size battery) arranged in combination. Their ability to be recharged makes them suitable for use in devices that are used on a regular basis. 


What are C rechargeable battery packs used for?

C rechargeable battery packs are typically used when the application demands either a high voltage or current-delivery capacity while also requiring C-size cells. The cells can be configured in either series or parallel (or a combination) to deliver the required current and voltage. A common application includes RC models with high-power motors.


Properties of C rechargeable battery packs

An individual C size cell typically measures 50 millimetres in length and 26.2 millimetres in width and has a nominal voltage of 1.5V. The capacity of an individual C-size battery is dependent on the battery chemistry and discharge conditions but can be up to 6,000 mAh (milliamp hours) in a rechargeable format. Depending on the configuration of the battery pack, the total dimensions and properties of the pack will be close to a multiple of the individual C cell parameters.
